The Menhir and the Montenot museum of Genay

Prehistoric station of Genay

In Genay, at a place called “La grande Borne”, you will discover the curious menhir of Sainte-Christine. It is a block of pink granite high of 3,27m.

According to the legend, Sainte Christine was pursued by her father who pushed her to the sea filled with a block of pink granite. The stone transformed to a miraculous raft which sailed up the Seine, the Yonne and the Armançon to arrive in Viserny and use to delimit the territory between Jeux and Genay.
