The conservation area

The goal of the conservation area is to protect the architectural, urban and landscaped heritage.

Following an urban study made in 1997 by J-M Léger and Pierre Pinon, the national commission of conservation areas, decided, in 1998, to give to Pierre Pinon an inventory of the buildings and also a written preservation and development plan for Semur-en-Auxois.

Presented in October 2010, the conservation area is accepted by the National Commision, and has become part of the 100 cities which received this prestigious label. The conservation area covers 190 hectares.
